Young Women's Camp
June 16th - June 19th
[YCL's + Stake Leaders arrive the 15th]
Walk with Me

Camp Long - Aiken, SC
Packing List
The girls will need to carry their gear from the parking lot drop off location to their cabins. Please try to pack in bags that are easily carried and well labeled with their name.
It can be difficult to stay organized at camp. A suggestion is to pack each day's outfit in a gallon [or 2 gallon] ziplock bag. Then as your daughter changes clothes she can put her dirty clothes back in the ziplock bag [also helping to contain the odors].

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If my daughter is a YCL does she go up to camp a day earlier than the other YW?
A: Yes! YCL's and Stake Camp Committee members leave for camp on Monday, June 16th. We will all meet at the Saluda building and Stake Leaders will help transport your YCL. They will ride home with their wards.

Q: How will my daughter get to and from camp?
A: Your ward camp director will be coordinating rides for the girls in your ward. Wards should plan to arrive at Camp Long between 9:30-10:30am on Tuesday, June 17th. If your daughter is a YCL she will be traveling up with the Stake on Monday [one day early] and home with her ward leaders.

Q: What are sleeping accommodations like at Camp Long?
A: The girls will sleep in large air-conditioned cabins grouped by ward. The cabins have bunkbed cots with thin mattresses. We suggest bringing a twin-size sheet to cover the mattress and a blanket or sleeping bag.

Q: What are spirit days? How does my YW need to prepare for those?
A: Each day during the week [with the exception of Friday] we have a theme for the day. Its fun for the YW to wear something that relates to the theme. It can be simple.
-
Tuesday: Camp Shirt Day (girls will receive their shirts when they arrive at camp and will be able to change into them when they go to their cabin and unpack)
-
Wednesday: Ward Day (Ward Camp Director helping plan this day)
-
Thursday: Character Day

Q: How much does Camp cost this year and how do I submit payment?
A: For each Young Woman Camp cost is $135. Payment should be made on the church online donation form on the bottom line "Local - Youth Camp Registration".

All Young Women and Adult Leadership attending camp are expected to observe all standards set forth in the For Strength of Youth pamphlet - especially those outlined below.
Love God, Love Your Neighbor
“All people are your brothers and sisters—including, of course, people who are different from you or disagree with you.”
“Show love for God by keeping His commandments”
“Treat everyone as a child of God.”
“Reach out to those who feel lonely, isolated, or helpless.”
“Make sure your language reflects love of God and others—whether you’re communicating in person or virtually. Say things that uplift—nothing that might be divisive, hurtful, or offensive, even as a joke. Your words can be powerful. Let them be powerful for good.”
Your Body Is Sacred
“Treat your body—and others’ bodies—with respect.”
“Heavenly Father wants us to see each other for who we really are: not just physical bodies but His beloved children with a divine destiny. Avoid styles that emphasize or draw inappropriate attention to your physical body instead of who you are as a child of God with an eternal future.”
“Do things that will strengthen your body—nothing that will hurt or damage it.”
