June 17th - June 21st

Location
Standing Indian Campground
Nestled in the scenic Nantahala National Forest, Standing Indian Campground offers the perfect blend of comfort and outdoor adventure. You'll enjoy modern amenities including clean showers and flushing toilets, while experiencing the natural beauty of the mountains. With average evening temperatures in the 60s, you'll appreciate cool mountain breezes after action-packed days. The well-maintained grounds provide an ideal basecamp for our week of activities and spiritual growth.
While Standing Indian Campground offers comfortable amenities, it also provides a rare opportunity to truly unplug from our digital world. With no electricity hookups or cell service, you'll discover the gift of genuine connection – with nature, with each other, and with Christ. This digital detox allows us to tune out life's constant notifications and tune in to the still, small voice that guides us. Come ready to trade screen time for stargazing, social media for social memories, and digital distractions for spiritual direction.
Important things to know:
-
⚡️ There is no power
-
📵 There is no cell reception for Young Men
-
🥶 It will get cool in the evenings so pack clothes to stay warm
Theme
Look Unto Christ
In a world filled with distractions and competing voices, our theme "Look Unto Christ" calls us to focus on our Savior as our ultimate guide. Just as ancient mariners navigated by fixed stars, looking to Christ provides direction, purpose, and peace in our daily journey. Through activities, devotionals, and outdoor adventures, we'll discover how fixing our eyes on Him transforms our choices, relationships, and character.

Main Activity
Zipline
Experience the thrill of soaring through the forest canopy on the Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tour! You'll build confidence, overcome challenges, and get a unique bird's-eye view of God's creation. This high-flying experience symbolizes our leap of faith as we trust in Christ and step out of our comfort zones.

Costs for the trip is $125 for youth and adults. Money should not be the reason your son cannot go. Please talk with your bishops if money is a concern. No costs for adults that are asked to attend to assist with leader responsibilities. Q&A
Can parents attend the YCL activity?
Yes! That is encouraged. The YCL's will be responsible for activities and we think parents should help ensure the activities are planned and organized appropriately.
How many adults should attend?
At least 1 adult per 5 boys is ideal. If any young man with special needs is attending we expect their parent to attend. Please work with your Ward Camp Director (WCD) to ensure your ward is covered.
Do adults need to register if they are just attending for a night or two?
Yes we would like all adult volunteers to register even if they can only attend for a couple of nights.
Are adults allowed to bring campers?
You must get approval from the Stake Camp Committee prior as there are limited locations for these.
Is fishing available?
The camp says you can fish the small stream running through it but those who have been there think there is not enough trout or water to make this worth while.
Are pocket knives okay to bring?
Yes, pocket knives are okay as long as the blade is shorter than 3 inches.
How will the camp share photos?
The camp will have a daily role for taking photos and the location of sharing those photos will be provided to those with that role. Once camp is complete the Stake Camp Committee will share the photos with everyone.
Can adults have laptops & cell phones?
If required they can. We would prefer the adults be engaged as much as the young men which means no mobile devices except for emergencies.
What is the cost of camp?
Costs for the trip is $125 for youth and adults. Money should not be the reason your son cannot go. Please talk with your bishops if money is a concern. Also, please discuss how your ward will raise the funds for camp with your ward leadership. This will reduce the amount needed by each participant. No costs for adults that are asked to attend to assist with leader responsibilities.
